To us, Nancy is our guru of Neurological treatment in Physical Therapy. She graduated from the University of Manitoba School of Rehabilitation Medicine in 1973, and then finished a year of specialty practice training at The National Hospital of Nervous Diseases in London, England. She came back to Canada and excelled during a full career as a senior therapist in the public healthcare system, mentoring and teaching so many physio students. After retirement, she decided to trailblaze and fill a need in the community for people that were discharged from the hospital, but still had the ability to make great gains through specialized neurological physical therapy. Her goal is to be able to use the knowledge and expertise that she has developed over the years to continue to help people reach their best potential. She advocates for her clients, and provides a much needed service for the out patient care of people suffering from neurological conditions, or post-operative neurosurgeries in conjunction with the public system. Nancy hopes to see our health system expanded so that people with neurological conditions are able to receive the therapy that is needed, for as long as it is required. She has attended many workshops and courses over the years with regards to care of patients with Stroke, TBI, Parkinsons, and SCI. She is gifted in the care of Neurological and post-Neurosurgical clients (including Stroke, MS, Parkinsons, TBI, post-Craniotomy, or post-spinal surgery for tumours and aneurysms). Outside of her career, she loves music. She sings in a vocal jazz group, and directs a choir. You may also find her on the golf course, at the swimming pool, or out at the lake on the boat!
