Samantha has completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology in Human Kinetics from the University of Regina. At Brownstone Health, we believe that a 'personal trainer' has a responsibility to be properly & safely educated. And Samantha is! Along with that 4 year university degree, she has also completed her CSEP-CPT designation, and is working towards her Certified Exercise Physiologist designation. She has a special interest in pre- and post-natal training, and has advanced training with "fit 4 two" pre and postnatal fitness specialist certification. Although a longstanding curiosity in general health & wellness lead her down the path of a kinesiology degree, over the years she has become intrigued with injury prevention.
As a former dancer of 14 years, and 5 years of cheerleading coaching experience to cap off an impressive 7 years of being a cheerleader herself, Samantha believes this background is something that sets her aside as a professional. She admits to experiencing a lot of different injuries that she had to overcome, which has helped her knowledge in training grow. Throughout her Fieldwork experience in Vancouver, she "got to learn a lot about sport specific exercise programs, sport related injuries, and how to properly get athletes back into exercising- I can apply this knowledge to everyone's general health and fitness."
Come check out Sam's energy, enthusiasm and genuine kindness during her group fitness classes, performing arts/cheer specific strength & conditioning classes, or as individual/couple personal training sessions.
