Kirsten is interning at Brownstone Health as the last step to complete her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, focusing on counselling and working with trauma.  Kirsten completed her Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Human Justice Degrees in 2011 and has been working in the human service field for the last 8 years.

She has worked with children and youth as a front-line worker and as a supervisor, working with young offenders and their families.  Kirsten uses a strength based, trauma informed approach, along with cognitive behavioural therapy and other evidence based approaches.

Kirsten is completing her MSW degree through Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario.  Given her interest in working with trauma, Kirsten intends to pursue additional post graduate training specific to working with those that have dealt with trauma.
