Kirsten is interning at Brownstone Health as the last step to complete her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, focusing on counselling. Kirsten completed her Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Human Justice Degrees in 2011 and has been working in the human service field for the last 9 years.
She has worked with children and youth as a front-line worker and as a supervisor, working with young offenders and their families. Kirsten uses a strength based, trauma informed approach, along with cognitive behavioural therapy and other evidence based approaches.
Kirsten is completing her MSW degree through Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario. Given her interest in working with trauma, Kirsten is also pursuing the three-year Somatic Experiencing Professional Training through The Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute.
Kirsten is currently accepting clients aged 12 years and older.
